Yoga provides a calm strength and inner balance when faced with the many physical and emotional challenges of pregnancy. Carefully adapted poses gently open your body and alleviate some of the symptoms associated with pregnancy.
These lovely classes are just as much for mum as they are for baby. Yoga postures open the chest, shoulders and lengthen the spine relieving tension, aches and pains. Postnatal yoga strengthens and stabilize the pelvis after birth, helping your body recover more quickly.
Firefly’s postnatal classes are 60 minutes of wonderful yoga dedicated solely to mum. We focus on postures to help gently realign the spine and connect with deep core muscles and pelvic floor.
Spinning Babies is a series of groundbreaking techniques that can mean the difference between a physiological birth and medical intervention, including caesarean birth.
Weekly classes are run during term time as follows:
10-11am Postnatal Yoga
9.30-10.30am Hatha Yoga
10.45-11.45pm Mother & Baby Yoga
Firstly I am a very lucky mummy to three gorgeous girls. Life is busy and my yoga practice keeps me sane (well, most of the time!)
I am also a keen runner and road cyclist. I was originally attracted to yoga for fitness and to improve my flexibility but I quickly learned that yoga can bring equanimity of mind as well as a release for tight hamstrings! I teach a dynamic style of Hatha yoga that is informed, creative and playful. I place a strong emphasis on correct alignment and personal assists to help each student get the most out of each session.
