Yoga provides a calm strength and inner balance when faced with the many physical and emotional challenges of pregnancy. Carefully adapted poses gently open your body and alleviate some of the symptoms associated with pregnancy. Gentle opening asana and breath exercises tone your birthing muscles preparing you to birth your baby. Balancing the body creates more space for your growing baby, making pregnancy more comfortable and importantly helps move your baby into an optimal position for birth. Guided relaxation enables you to have much needed ‘me’ time and a chance to form a deeper connection to your baby. Positive affirmations are incorporated into pregnancy yoga sessions empowering women about their birth choices and preparing them for motherhood.

Firefly Yoga’s pregnancy course is recommended from week 14 and can continue with a gentle closing practice following the birth of your baby. It is important for all pregnant students to consult your doctor before commencing any prenatal class, especially if you have had any complications in your pregnancy, including a history of miscarriage.
